New Water system hooked up

To help aid in continual water for the pumpkins I have rigged up a soaker hose to a 45 gallon drum so as to provide water over a couple hour period each morning.

Thursday July 30th - Big Moon fertilization

This pumpkin is 4.5' from the stem of the plant, not ideal but due to the late nature of the plant I figure this is a good trade-off.
Since the Big Moon plant had no male flowers, I used a male flower from the Giant Atlantic Dill plant so we shall see what effect this has.

The Big Moon plant is now 7.5' long.

The Giant Atlantic Dill Pumpkin is now 15' long what amazing growth the last week.

Tuesday July 28th - Pumpkin fertilization

This morning I fertilized the flower on the selected Giant Atlantic Dill pumpkin, it is now exactly 10' from the stem of the plant.
To fertilize the female flower, you must pick a male flower (no fruit at the base) and remove its flower petals leaving only the stem in the center. Then proceed to rub this on each of the part of the female flowers center. Bees will normally do this for you, but by performing this task yourself, you ensure even and complete fertilization which should result in a larger pumpkin.

Tuesday July 21st - The Pumkin begins

The first sign of the main Giant Atlantic Dill pumpkin I am going to focus on, it is about 9.5 feet from the stem of the plant and on the main vine.

I have been encouraging the main vine of the Giant Atlantic Dill plant to grow out into the sunlight as much as possible.

The Big Moon plant has now reached 3.5 feet in length.
